In 1991 Ronnie & his family moved into their first new home. Ronnie's step-father, Bliss Thorne, died in 1999. His mom, Myrtle Thorne, passed away in March of 2013.

He could turn his hand to any job & took pleasure in helping others. In his youth he enjoyed playing hockey. For many years he belonged to the Jemseg Crokinole Club.
