Obituary of Gertrude Laura Hattie Kennedy

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Gertrude Laura Hattie Kennedy, age 78, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, NB on Saturday, February 17, 2024. She was born in Upper Gagetown, NB, on January 15, 1946, the daughter of the late Merlyn and Ernestine (Bonnar) Ferris.

She is survived by sons; Eddy (Della Mae) Kennedy of New Caledonia, David (Angela) Kennedy of Honeydale, Daryll (Mandy) Kennedy of Saint John, Terry Kennedy of Sussex; daughters Krista Kennedy (Jason Crawford) of Sussex, Angela (Steven) Greenslade of Sussex, and Rebekah (Tony) Floyd of Sussex; grandchildren Evan Kennedy, Craig Kennedy, Josh Kennedy, Cherish Kennedy, Jordan Kennedy, Zach Kennedy, Seth Kennedy, Ben Kennedy, Tyson Kennedy, Kaitlyn Kennedy, Knox Kennedy, Janelle McGraw, Justine Greenslade, Dustin Erb, Jesse Erb, Kyla Erb, Jaelyn Kaye, Gavin Kaye, Kevin Kennedy, Morgan Kennedy, Falone Kennedy, Negan Floyd, Brelynn Floyd, Jasper Kennedy, Emerson Kennedy; Several great-grandchildren; brothers Gerald (Aubrey) Ferris, Dwight Ferris, and Harold Ferris; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband Ed Kennedy, son Matthew Kennedy, daughter-in-law Karen Kennedy and brother Malcolm Ferris.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), Norton, NB. Visitation will be held at Outreach Pentecostal Church on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 12:00 to 2:00pm, with funeral service beginning at 2:00pm. Interment will take place in Bayview Cemetery in the spring.
